SherpaVision®
Symbiosis of 3D camera and laser

The heart of the system is the 3D camera laser system. It detects workpieces where you have placed them, without grid plates, stops or matrices. This saves you from constantly having to retool mechanical devices, laborious programming of change magazines and expensive and vulnerable rotary and stacking tables. A cover flap covers the optical sensors when used in harsh operating conditions.

Yaskawa
6-axis industrial robot
image

SHERPA Robotics relies on the proven robot technology of YASKAWA, a leading manufacturer of industrial robots with over 100 years of experience in the field of automation. The SherpaLoader® uses 6-axis robots from the GP series, with a payload of 25 kg, 50 kg and 88 kg.

Adaptive adjustable grippers
for hand-held inserts
image

As a long-term system partner, SHERPA Robotics equips its robot cells with ZIMMER handling technology. Round bar blanks are clamped with 3-jaw centric grippers, edge material and shafts with 2-jaw parallel grippers. The gripper fingers are quickly and precisely positioned in a large adjustment range using a pointed toothing.

Electric spindle drive
with torque control
image

The SherpaLoader® automates machining centers that do not have a rotary union for connecting pneumatic or hydraulic clamping devices using an electric torque screwdriver. The tightening torque for clamping components and the opening angle when releasing clamped components are set via the dialog control and are saved in the order.

Dialogue control with
17 inch touch display
image

The robot cell is operated via a dialog control with a graphical user interface. Operators can set up new orders in no time at all on a 17" touch display, without any programming knowledge for robot controls. The use of clear symbols and understandable input masks provide context-related support. For technically oriented employees, order creation is self-explanatory.

Compressed air cleaning against
coolants and chips
image

Cleanliness is crucial when working with precision. The SherpaLoader® is equipped with a blow nozzle to clean the clamping device of the processing machine with compressed air before loading and to remove residues from components after processing.

Universal interface for
common processing machines
image

The SherpaLoader® is just as compatible with new machines as it is with existing machines. For around 10 years, machine tools have been offering bus interfaces for connecting automation systems. The SherpaLoader® uses the widely used Profibus, Profinet and EtherNet/IP standards. If no bus interface is available, SHERPA Robotics equips existing systems with interfaces using M-functions and potential-free contacts. In compliance with guidelines and without the need for costly commissioning of the machine manufacturer.
